Knives are a simple weapon that players obtain near the start of the game, but players are encouraged to upgrade that survival knife into a thermoblade as soon as possible to increase its damage output. This weapon will create a force field of sorts that will keep the reaper in place if it makes contact. They can found in wrecks or debris within the Bulb Zone, Safe Shallows, and Kelp Forest. Players will first need to find a blueprint for a stasis rifle. This is the preferred method of taking down the reaper due to its high damage output but is definitely the more nerve-wracking method since it requires the player to fight the reaper in person. If the player has added in a few hull upgrades, this shouldn’t instantly result in the suit’s destruction but players should be ready to run away if the prawn suit is compromised. Meaning that even if the prawn suit isn’t attacked, players will still need to continue attacking with the drill arm for several minutes before the reaper finally keels over.īut it is likely that regardless of how the player grapples, the reaper will probably be able to twist around and attack the prawn suit. Sounds simple enough, right? Unfortunately, reapers have a really high health pool. Use the grapple arm to get close to the beast and use the drill arm to inflict damage continuously. The tactics of fighting the reaper are fairly simple. Be sure to bring along a repair tool, as it is almost guaranteed that players will need to repair their prawn suit mid-fight.

Once that’s done, enter the suit and find a reaper leviathan to fight. Add a few hull enforcement upgrades and affix a drill arm and a grapple arm to the prawn suit. Once the prawn suit is built, bring it to a base with a vehicle bay so it can be upgraded.
